AS,
When Bush campaign starts to lay out Kerry's 19yr extremely liberal voting record, many of those veterans will have 2nd thoughts & will take a closer look at Edwards, if he's still in the race. At one time, Kerry even voted against bullet-proof vests for the military.
His record has not received the close scrutiny it will if he's the nominee. Once those vets realize Kerry has often remarked that the USA needs to "cooperate with" or "listen more often" to the UN, those once conservative voters will go for Edwards or back to Bush.
