There are biblical scholars that make the case that Christianity was marketed to the masses, post Jesus I suspect these are professional debunkers. They completely forget the early martyrs of the Church, who chose death over renouncing Christ. The persecutions began right after the crucifixion and continued for at least a couple of hundred years. It was these heroic martyrs that planted the seeds that established the Church....
