BobP, you have a right to express to your opinion but not tell individuals what they suffer from.

I said security is not just military security, Security is all encompassing thing to include job opportunities repeat "opportunities", the security of access to quality healthcare etc. Now I do not know which part of the term "security" you do not understand. I will help you if you let us know what I have said is you do not understand.

We Americans vote for our President to crate those job opportunity to provide us with that security. Etc. etc.

I hope you will refrain from personal attacks and restrict your responses to the substance of what is said instead of comments on the person who said it.

No more comments of this nature to any poster on this thread please:
You suffer from a cradle to grave mentality. Get Help.

Thank you.

That is one of the most idiotic statements I have read on SI.

And the sad fact that so many hold a similar view is indeed a savage indictment of the educational establishment in this country. As far as I'm concerned, the teachers union is indeed a quasi terrorist organization, bent upon feathering it's own nest and advancing a hard core statist political agenda. Educating our children is far down on their list of priorities.

Good teachers struggle against their union and the entrenched education administration bureaucracy. I tip my hat to them. The very best teachers have nothing to do with public education and opt for the freedom of private school environs.

Given a choice, most parents would send their children to schools that provide a real education, which is why the NEA and their political cohorts are so vehemently opposed to any meaningful school choice proposals...
