BobP, That's exactly what the democrats want. They want the public overly dependent on the gov't!

Yes BobP, if you want to call "cradle to grave" then so be it. We elect our President to do that, to make sure that we are not only safe from external threats but also from internal ones, and that we also have opportunities for jobs, low prices etc. etc. A pResident is elect to govern and what I say is called governance.

You just cannot let one person devour and finish another whether it is done in a white collar fashion or otherwise.

And it's still not up to the government to provide any of that.
It's up to YOU!

You are relying on ignorance among the voting populace and I believe you will be sorely disappointed.

There is a HUGE difference between telling the citizens to be reliant, vs. doing what the BushCo regime does- tax the citizens heavily, take the money and dole it out to corporations in the form of pork... then say "there's nothing we can do about this".

We had a budget surplus in the 90s that could have paid for every citizen to have free healthcare for a few years, or it could have been used to restructure the FICA tax which is anticompetitive and causes US corps to go offshore to a degree. Instead Bush took all the money and gave it away to corporate interests, as corporations became richer than ever and the citizenry is much worse off. This is Bush's legacy and the voters know it.

I'm sick of the "tough love" excuse from Bush people.
