I am in complete agreement. I think a lot of dems are blind to the fact that people choose a candidate not just based on positions, but based on their perceptions of the man himself. I don't think voters felt they really "knew" Al Gore, in the way that they knew George Bush. I see the same thing shaping up in this election. Who is John Kerry? Damned if I know. Edwards has an ability to connect to voters on an emotional level, to make them feel like they know him.
