So why promote tax increases and take money away from us?
You finally admit what I have been writing...cut the wasteful spending.

I'll bet we could cut 10% out of Bush's budget and not effect efficiency and performance one iota.

Mark this date on your calendar, finally ONE statement that we agree on, or partially agree.
AS, I would argue you could cut 20%, but your side mostly will not allow it.

When the Republicans got control in the 90's and attempted to cut, your side screamed they were going to hurt the seniors and kids were going to starve. We're not even talking cutting 10% like you suggest, we are talking they attempted to cut the rate of increase. If a budget was supposed to increase 8%, they wanted to increase it only 4 % and the Dems slammed them.

Today, it's both sides trying to buy votes. Who can give away the most.
