Bush fails again. Dollar Falls on Weak Consumer Confidence
By Manuela Badawy

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The dollar fell 1 percent against the euro on Tuesday after a surprisingly weak reading of U.S. consumer sentiment raised concerns over the outlook for the economy.
The unexpected drop in consumer sentiment implies a slow economic recovery, allowing the U.S. Federal Reserve (news - web sites) to take its time in raising currently low interest rates. This is a key element if the dollar is to strengthen, by making yields more attractive on U.S.-based assets, analysts say.
