It's all part of the Rove plan. Make a huge issue out of nothing. Get Fox to parade the homos, then MSNBC will follow suit.

Then try to paint Kerry as some sort of homo lover. In reality Kerry is simply responding to the reality of gay and lesbian folks. Bush on the other hand wants to hide his head in the sand and pretend that homos don't exist.

When a gay partnership has one worker and one homemaker, and the breadwinner dies, the contributions to SS are not transferable to the partner, and the partner after supporting the breadwinner gets none of the benefits that were accrued by the breadwinner. Is that fair?

All of this controversy and it only affects a very small minority of people. I don't know why there can't be a bi-partisan approach in writing legislation that treats the situation fairly, then get on with more important issues.

The reason this issue will be blown out of proportion is that Rove has calculated that Bush can get some mileage out of it, simple as that.
