which brings us back to my original point which was as long as the majority of people in the country prefer government involvement in sanctioning marriages, (as seems to be the case) then they damn well better be willing to accept what said government defines as "marriage"

The problem with certain of the Mormon Fundamentalist groups is that they are essentially harboring pedophiles and also engage in massive welfare fraud. Should a 75 year-old lecher have the right to marry (and rape) an unwilling 14 year-old girl? I would hope not, but it happens in Colorado City, UT and Bountiful, BC

As a practical matter, the LDS Church has outlawed polygamy and excommunicates anyone who practices and advocates the practice. It's the Mormon fundamentalists who espouse polygamy.
