Maybe. But that was done long ago Jorj. Since then it has served many societies well and become part of the culture. To strike it down now opens the door for a multitude of problems that we aren't prepared to handle.

If marriage is just a legal partnership I don't see how government could prevent such a union. Either there's a line in the sand or there isn't. As crazy as that might sound I assure you that the minute the door is open it will be tested and kicked in.

Probably. Although we said that when we allowed women to vote and in 1992 the boogeyman came true by way of Bill Clinton....largely due to women voters <g>
