Oh, Lindy, don't get me started. I am up to my ears in a case that's probably going to trial on Monday where we're asking for punitive damages. Sure, if the corporation has to fork money over, it will come from the customers, ultimately. On the other hand, the customers can always do business with a corporation that doesn't have to pay out a punitive damages award for wrong-doing, so can charge less.

Edit: I am hoping to settle the case so am deleting the details. If I told you the details in the case it would make your hair curl.

Re: Edwards' book. I learned a long time ago never to have an opinion about a case until I'd actually read the pleadings from all parties and all available transcripts. I definitely try not to have an opinion based on what I read in the newspaper. Cases can't really be reduced to soundbites.

Whatever Edwards says is self-serving, of course. As does what his opponents say. The truth may or may not be what either says, it may be in between or somewhere else.
