Neo-Cons and the New World Order--Immigration Reform and other Labor Policies.

After reviewing all the news coming out, I feel there is intentional effort by the Neo-Cons to create a new world of indentured slaves for the financial gain of Corporate America. They want to turn the United States into just another Bannana Republic in the Americas: A two-class society of the "Haves" and "Have Nots." They are not naive or ignorant to the outsourcing issue and the jobless recovery--The Neo-Cons have a plan and are, now, executing it.

Look at Greenspan telling everyone they don't have too much debt. "Go out and get some more debt, you don't have enough," he shouts.

Look at the new bankruptcy laws that will create indentured servants for 5 years without allowing for all necessary expenses, such as, healthcare. And the debtor's monthly payments to creditors is based on what they use to earn at their last job, even if they are presently unemployed, or maybe underemployed at a new job.

READ the rest of the articles below. They have a lot of good information and points.
I cannot post more without being censored, again.

Slavery returns
Recent immigration laws are pulling slavery off the ash-heap of history

Like the issue of immigration itself, the Bush administration's recent attempts at stemming the migration of illegal immigrants pander to the irony of illegal foreigners in the United States.

And more grievously, the regulations foster a 21st-century version of slavery, sex trafficking and second-class citizenry.

Guest-worker bill is offering indentured servitude, disaster
Nov. 15, 2003 12:00 AM

The Border Security and Immigration Improvement Act of 2003 being foisted upon the public by Sen. John McCain and Reps. Jim Kolbe and Jeff Flake will create an H-4 guest-worker visa that guarantees citizenship to undocumented immigrants after three to six years of indentured servitude.

Guest workers are dependent on their employer to maintain their legal visa status, leaving workers no choice but to accept low wages and lousy work conditions to fulfill their indentured contract.

Indentured servitude

James K. Galbraith, who knows more about this sort of thing, thinks that Bush's plan will be a Bad Thing: for immigrants, for Mexico and for low-wage American workers. In his Salon article, "The no jobs president," he outlines one polar possibility for how this immigration reform could turn out to be a very, very Bad Thing:

New immigration policy resembles indentured servitude of colonial era
January 14, 2004

In our history's colonial era, poor white debtors or criminals could buy their passage to America by promising their labor to a landowner for a certain number of years.

Used for the dirtiest and most dangerous jobs, these indentured servants were often degraded and exhausted by the end of their terms, if they lived to see the end of their terms.

Not only were these servants exploited, their free labor, and that of slaves during the era, took away from free poor whites, wanting to participate in the burgeoning free-market system.

USSFTA gives S'pore leg-up in US visa quota

Its allotment of 5,400 special work visas almost equals Japan's
By CHRISTOPHER REED

Since the high-tech collapse, the mood has changed, with more and more Americans complaining about jobs lost to foreigners at home and overseas.

H-1B visas, which are supposed to supply workers to fill jobs for which Americans are unavailable, also appear to have expanded into new fields.

One of various websites opposing H-1Bs lists more than 30 occupations including accountants, managers, lawyers, dentists, nurses, fashion models, architects, specialist chefs, musicians and tax analysts among visa beneficiaries.

U.S. lawmakers: Worker visa program needs changes
IDG News Service 2/5/04

The L-1 visa program is making it easy for U.S. companies to move jobs overseas, lawmakers argued. "America is in danger of losing that level of prosperity which allows us to work as an agent for positive change in the rest of the world," said committee chairman Henry Hyde, an Illinois Republican. "... Are we being lax in the 'off-shoring' of American jobs, often facilitated by 'in-shore' training first given to L visa holders right here in the United States, so they can take new skills -- and American jobs -- home with them?"

Lantos accused some U.S. companies of using the L-1 visa to drastically lower wages. "What we are dealing with is high-tech indentured servitude," Lantos said. "We are dealing not only with a loophole of gigantic proportions, but also a scandal of gigantic proportions. It's up to the Congress to rectify the situation, and I fully anticipate we shall."

Coming soon: united serfs of America

The proposed Bush rules, which the two Republican bills codify and expand, would:

• Exclude previously protected workers who were entitled to overtime by reclassifying them as managers. Companies are already using this ploy when they can get away with it. Say you're frying burgers on the night shift, making overtime, and suddenly -- congratulations -- you're the assistant night manager, with no raise and no overtime.

• Eliminate certain middle-income workers from overtime protections by adding an income limit, above which workers no longer qualify for overtime. You like that? You make too much to earn overtime.

• Remove overtime protection from large numbers of workers in aerospace, defense, health care, high tech and other industries.
