We don't need a constitutional amendment that takes away rights, nor a president that chooses a wedge issue for the purposes of politics. What we need is good bi-partisan legislation that solves the inequities that gay and lesbian couples suffer. If that relief can come in the form of a civil union bill, then why not get after the problem that way? If Bush is for Civil unions then why doesn't he urge legislation that solves that need?
