I'm getting tired of the subject also. However, the question of whether OBL would have been entitled to POW status under the GC if he'd been captured at Tora Bora (or if he were captured today) is quite relevant. There would be no reason to treat OBL differently from any other suspected Al Qaeda detainee - either those captured during the initial Afghanistan invasion or the 80 or so detained over the past year.

Apparently you don't want to admit this as it illustrates the problem with treating detained terror suspects as POW's too well. It's one thing to argue on behalf of unknowns whom one can pretend are innocent peasants and another to argue on behalf of Osama bin Ladin, himself.

zonder,

Just a friendly observation here......

Does it cross your mind that Brumar is just jerking your chain and laughing about you in PMs with his other childish buddies (behind your back) who just love wasting the time of thoughtful posters such as yourself? There is a whole brigade of these vile little imps on SI, you know.

IMO, there is a noticable disparity in sincerity in your altercations with this chap. Of course, you are welcome to take him seriously, but that wouldn't reflect well on your character judgement abilities. :)
