It's an interesting sign of political weakness. Bush was supposed to get the swing voters on security and tax cut issues - instead he has to energize his base and alienate some swing voters with the gay marriage thing, hoping he can hang on by his fingernails.

I wonder how many other rightwing pet causes he will pander to by November.

I think before pushing for this Amendment, Bush should divorce Laura, and try living for 6 months with a new
partner in the White House - living the gay lifestyle.

That's an interesting concept. so before pushing laws prohibiting terrorism, he should spend 6 months as a terrorist, before pushing laws against drug dealing he should spend six months as a drug dealer, etc.

Interesting concept.
