I agree. Now we need a flat tax.

A flat tax law would be good, providing that it pinned the legislators down sufficiently so they could not up the tax at their whim. Example: Flat tax starts out at 17% for everyone and everything. A bit later, the congress decides it needs more money (for unspoken pork) and increases it to 17.5. Of course, they do that now by IRS codes changes. We are pretty much shafted as long as the voting public doesn't hold their respective politician accountable. I will now step off the soap box. <g>
