In response to your question, you have to distinguish between medical conference presentations and investment conference presentations. The former often do drive stocks because sometimes significant news gets announced at them. (The most significant single conference is probably ASCO, a cancer conference which takes place in early June.)

As far as investment presentations, mostly these do not drive biotech stocks (at least within the universe we cover here, which by and large does not include BB stocks). The exception is the JP Morgan Healthcare conference in January (previously known as the Hambrecht & Quist conference). Partly this is because companies will sometimes save up significant news to release at this conference.
