Ted, I don't plan to go that way!

Of course, no one plans to go that way. That's the whole point.

There are other problems with waiting until the last minute for salvation. Some are theological, and some stem from the misconception that a life of faith necessarily has to be bland. But I'll save all that for another time.

To be honest, I don't believe that you can go through most of your life sinning until near the end and then expect redemption by proclaiming that Christ is the son of God. Assuming that there is a God, JC and another realm, then I don't think we are on this plane to play until near the end and then get religion.

And the bible notwithstanding, I don't think anyone including religious leaders has a real handle on what's going on with this or any other life. I think the bible was written by a simple people in a much simpler time. For that reason, their interpretation is suspect to me.

And very frankly, I don't buy the belief that the more than 3 billion people on this planet who do not accept JC as their savior or believe that he is the son of God are not going to heaven. Assuming once again that there is a God, I can't believe for one second that such a supreme being would penalize a kid growing up India because he was Hindu when he died at 5 and had never heard of JC.
