There are plenty on this thread and others who admire Chomsky, or I would not have offered such observations. I will not try to prove it to you, however. If you have not noticed it already, it is a hopeless task.......

Well, sure, there is a whole catalog of people whose response to Sept 11th was to urge us to ask "why do they hate us?" and to examine "root causes". Not just Chomsky by any means. Surely you could not have missed all these people? If you did, I can try to assemble a partial catalog. A full one would be impossible, as most of the leftist intellectuals of Europe seem to be in this catagory wholy or partly, and the "progressive left" in America is with them. Among the pundocracy, have you ever read Monbliot, or Arundha Roy (sp?), or Robert Fiske? They all publish widely in England, and for magazines here. Have you been reading The Nation at all in the last two years?
