No one will say that, for fear of forfeiting all credibility. Instead, they will profess to have our true security interests at heart. Of course, in the end it means that we are generally wrong to be militarily aggressive, lest we stir others up against us. They will stipulate criteria for action that would, if put in place, amount to strategic surrender, like limiting ourselves to responding to a direct attack on our shores. On this thread, there has been Raymond Duray and Tiger's Paw; on the other thread I posted these observations on, there has been Jacob Snyder and GST. But I am sure that they would all assert that they are concerned with national defense rightly understood............
