Joe,

I agree with you in part. That's why I left AMD in the title - so it will still be found when searching for threads by symbol.

However, the postings over the last year or more appear to have very little content related to AMD. I looked at the other AMD thread, and it appears to be a good exchange of messages, well moderated, and on-topic. None of that is the case here.

>>Shouldn't talk about semiconductors and investing be prized more highly?

It is. That's why I'm working on segregating investment from non-investment related discussions. There is room for both, but there are far too many instances of "investment" threads that no longer pertain to investing.

If the dominant discussion here pertained to AMD and it was being disrupted by off-topic postings, I would attempt to eliminate the off-topic posts. That isn't the case here by any stretch of the imagination.

The history is still there for reference and won't be deleted.

Just look at the archives. There are 100,000+ AMD related posts, that have a lot of history stored here, probably more than in any other thread on SI. The current political rant have little value a day after it is posted.

Where do you get off telling us what's valuable or not valuable? I swear you are the biggest whiner on the planet.

Why throw away a historical treasure in order to protect something with no historical value?

Yes, its worth millions........millions of old avalon chips. <g>

At minimum, please do nothing (that is restore the status quo). If something should be done, let these guys start their own new thread. Besides, this BBS is called "Silicon Investor". Shouldn't talk about semiconductors and investing be prized more highly?

Bla, bla, bla! I am sure now that I hear Mani calling you.
