When I was drag racing, I always beat the same guy and he never cold figure it out, we were built to the same class specs...it was easy. all reciprocating and associated parts balanced.

It is my impression that that the Nextel cars are putting out in excess of 800HP now. I remember when the first Chevy "Rat" motor was used in NASCAR, 427 CI, 650 HP, 40+ years ago. Now the engines are smaller and put out more HP; about 1.5+ HP/CI then and 2.0+ HP/CI now.
