They moved over to the mod thread for future discussion in order to have just a little control over the content of some of the more over the top posts. I don't think that anyone ever thought that you would be so much of a worm, and I doubt anyone seriously doubted SI's commitment to maintain the integrity of their threads and the historical information that they contain. Apparently that may have been a big mistake but that doesn't mean that this thread was abandoned. Your assertion that just because most of the posters stopped making new posts here the few that remained had the right to officially change it's topic is pure crap. If you wanted to discuss politics you should have started a new thread. This thread was hijacked, you started the hijacking the minute you decided that you could turn this into your personal den of off topic drivel. It is the amount of that drivel that convinced the admin to officially change the topic and it is the complete lack of official voting or discussion on the matter that makes it a true hijacking.

OK, I have to make everyone hate me, but I have to get this off my chest while we're on the topic of INTC/AMD and moderation... I submitted the complaint that got Paul Engel knocked off of SI for good... I didn't mean to get him banned for good, but he'd sort of outdone himself a number of times in rapid sequence and I had to say something. He disappeared the next day. Dave, I think he's done his penance (it's been what, two years?)-- could you please reinstate Paul? -Z
