His latin was bad and his singing horrible but he used to let us smoke and we really liked him. There was an earnest young priest where I used to attend semi-regularly a few years ago. At the end of Mass he would sing the Salve Regina and some of the parishoners would join in. Not in the liturgy but so what? It was beautiful and moving. The other priest there once told a group it was OK to smoke grass as long as it didn't lead to sinful behavior. Who says these guys are killjoys?
