Oh, I don't think one person's post on this thread would prejudice the success of this picture, after all it's just another film... Mel put up his own money for this picture, that takes enormous guts, I wish him all the best for the success of this film, and he deserves the acclaim he'll receive... but, I just don't see it becoming an all time great picture... these epoch type films make a huge hit at the box office, and everyone is talking about it, and this is exactly what the distributors and producers want, but it really is just momentary hype designed to promote the film... it's a brilliant promotional effort, but it's difficult to know exactly how the public will react to any picture until the film itself is actually released into theaters and viewed on the screen...

Where do you think they got the term “Making a martyr of someone” from?

One reason to NOT execute Saddam but let him rot in jail in disgrace is to prevent him from becomming a martyr for the terrorists.

I don wanna start a debate on religion here, but the Romans turned Jesus, a very enlightened man at the very least, into a martyr for his people to the point he was elevated to a god. Over 2,000 years later, people are still killing in his name.
