Persecution is persecution, and, to me, it really doesn't matter why people choose to persecute but that they persecute at all.

Yep, persecution sucks.

I said there seems to be a "melanin correlation coefficient" about how upset people get when there is persecution.

I don't know about your melanin correlation. I agree that there seems to be a correlation, but I don't know that it's causal. It could mostly be that Europe and the ME are in our zone of national interest and Africa is not and other factors having nothing to do with melanin.

Those studies get different conclusions depending on whether they look at the y chromosome handed down from father to son or mitochondrial DNA handed down from mother to child. Conclusion, European Jews seem to be descended primarily from men from the mid-east who tended to marry a lot of women from many places. Perhaps, women converts not needing circumcision had something to do with that.

Lots of populations in the world (like Latin America and the Caribbean) have similar patterns of y chromosomes from one part of the world and mDNA from another.
