exactly - The whole damn purpose and ONLY purpose is to keep the US consumer spending. Greenspan wants to do it Bush wants to do it Japan wants to do it China wants to do it It is a question of a) does the consumer give up first (due to job losses) b) do we get price hikes that will force the issue c) rate hikes that force a and b - This is a very remote possibility IMO
