Headline says "downturn" while the body of the article says "slowdown." Disingenuous?

FWIW: I listened to the NVLS mid quarter update conference call, yesterday. CEO Hill was asked the same question, are Taiwan foundry statements that all 2004 orders have already been placed true, that was asked of CEO Splinter at the AMAT earnings conference call. Hill didn't think that was the case and admitted he will be very surprised if it is. So both Hill and Splinter don't buy it. NVLS expects orders to grow quarter by quarter throughout 2004. Customers are ordering in prudent small increments and orders are coming from across the board. In the last week CEOs at AMAT, CMOS, and NVLS have painted a picture of the recovery that is strongly at odds with the bearish analysts (cycle peak in 2004) and doesn't support the bullish analysts (peak in 2005). Market prices don't support the bearish predictions, but seem to be waiting to see if the bullish one are correct.
