ElM, it's a simple business. Apartheid is bad. Racism is MAD. Most people recognize that. So, the Labour government has lost a LOT of support. They were in favour of apartheid and racism and so are quite a lot of Maoris.

Goff could save the airfares and stay home and get a real job.

What the ridiculous treaty of Waitangi tried to do was institutionalize apartheid. It seemed a good idea at the time, for both parties [the British Crown and a whole swarm of tribes]. It wasn't long before things started coming apart at the seams, which wasn't surprising given such a silly idea as a way of running a country.

Humpty Dumpty has fallen off the wall, [about 140 years ago] and can't be put back together again. Humpty Dumpty has been made into omelette and scrambled egg.
