Yes - I believe perpetual and rapid ~ 4% growth is possible. For some places it is not desirable. If you have a small educated population with a large resource base - why worry about it. If you have a large growing population - much of it still on the lower rung - growth is absolutely necessary.

I find the biggest stupidity to be those political constituencies who most need growth who support politicians who are least likely to deliver. By deliver I mean delivering economic opportunity. I think many are more interested in economic revenge/jealousy than opportunity.
