So, what do you want us to do against Pakistan. Let me see - nothing. Ditto for Saudi Arabia, and North Korea.

I think the "outing" of Khan as a nuclear smuggler was a major act, if not political attack, against some of the Pakistani leaders who had something to hide..

Someone made the decision to reveal the information and "make the case" to Musharraf in a manner than he could no longer ignore (or deny)..

And who knows what else we know about his own personal involvement..

Eventually aces must be played, but I'd rather keep them up my sleeve as long as possible until they can be used to maximum effect..

There are far better alternatives than ideological rhetoric, pointless military aggression, political assassinations and military occupation.

>>"If we hadn't gone into Iraq, Libya wouldn't have flipped and AQ Khan's Sams Club for Nukes would still be in operation."<<

Oh yes, and the Wall promotes middle east peace and Israeli security....same kind of BS thinking.

Hi Nadine Carroll; Re: "If we hadn't gone into Iraq, Libya wouldn't have flipped and AQ Khan's Sams Club for Nukes would still be in operation."

This is about as logical as claiming that the only reason that the sun continues to rise in the East is because Bush was elected. Here's the true sequence of events, all not only preceding our invasion of Iraq, but preceding even Bush's election to the Whitehouse:

April 5, 1999
U.N. to suspend sanctions as Libya delivers Lockerbie suspects

June 11, 1999
U.S., Libya hold first official talks in 18 years

July 1, 1999
U.S. opposes lifting U.N. sanctions on Libya

State Department to re-evaluate ban on travel to Libya
March 21, 2000

Libya wants to restore its place in the world, but can it?
March 30,2000

The articles corresponding to the above headlines are from CNN and are here:
cnn.com

Note that the above was under the Clinton presidency. All Bush did was to inherit a Libyan policy of steady reconciliation, and to continue it. Miraculously, he didn't screw it up, so I guess in his case, that is a magnificent victory.
