Show was a great revelation and i suspect history will judge it to have had some impact. Some of the more extreme gay men--the ones we were taught to beat up--were just so damn nice and bore no ill will to anyone--how can you hate them? But i think it is the talent that this community displays in the workplace that really changed the balance.
Folks used to ask re: women--How could exclude 50% of human brainpower from the work place, govt etc. With gays, we could say how can we leave out that 5% or whatever it is. To discriminate against them would be like discriminating against left handers. There is just more important stuff to worry about.
And Bill, i am beginning to thing bush committed another blunder with this amendment. Conservative christians have nowhere else to go, so bush just had to say what the others say. This amendment would be similar to the dems proposing an amendment against the partial birth abortion ban. They already havea those voters and all they would do is energize the opposition. PS since kerry may win, we need to set up a dialogue with his folks. WE on the right believe him to be a flip flppper with a liberal bias. This may not be the case once out of taxechusets and we should hope that he moves to the center and becomes a post 9/11 version of clinton without the zipper problem
