Ted Re...Months before 9/11, the level of 'chatter' increased dramatically. It was at that point that German intel warned the WH of the potential for hijackings.

The simple truth is both presidents were warned. Bill probably had the warning , that was the most actionable. However neither pres. would do anything personally, except pass the info on to the respective dept. to look into it. Certainly, one would think the BND would have the ability, and did call the CIA directly, without going through the pres. What the leads were, and why they weren't useful is a matter of conjecture.

Frankly, having said all that, I am not attacking Bush on this issue...........

Yeah, I thought you would change your mind, once you found out, Bill was just as culpable.

However, I laugh my butt off when I hear Reps. chatter on about how much better they are with national defense.

You can laugh all you want, however it is the reps, who are laughing all the way to the voting booth.
