You are about the 12th person I have heard about. One of the main culprits is a file msg118.dll, and it seems to clog your machine up so much it slows it way down.

Free ware, ad-aware by lavasoftinc.com run 1st. You literally may have to shut your machine down and start it up and run the program first before any other.

Next freeware spy bot. run also.

Then search for msg118 see if it is still there.
