Yes, that's what I had read -- that the resurrection is "only briefly shown." Very briefly, I understand. Torture torture torture.

That's why I was surprised when you described the movie as "about death...and rebirth."

It also appears that Pilate and his wife are converted, or at least begin the process of conversion, and even Herod's attitude is transformed from sniggering to respect.

Is that historical?

Pilate's worse depradations were to come, including a horrendous massacre of Samaritans (I guess they were bad Samaritans) which finally got him fired in 36AD.
