Well, Karen....Finally, you do understand the fear after all.

If you're talking about my understanding people's fear of terrorists, sorry, still doesn't resonate. But I have listened to what others are experiencing and have gotten a few insights into the manifestation people are labeling "fear."

I consider our irrational fear reaction to the terrorists to be part of the problem, part of the threat "to our country--to our way of life, our economy, our freedoms," certainly not part of the solution. If this country were less addled by fear, we could more effectively and efficiently defend the country's way of life, economy, and freedoms. That's why I'm trying to understand the manifestation better. "The greatest thing we have to fear is fear itself" and "know thy enemy" are my driving adages. So if you mean that I understand the risk to our country triggered by the terrorists and amplified by our fear of the terrorists, yes, I've always understood that. The fear of the terrorists, no.
