Kerry voted for the biggest defense budget in history and others as well but not always individual programs, especially the hugely expensive MX Missile and the B2 which had cost overruns to the sky and cost 2 billion per bird. This was at a time when Reagan was driving up huge deficits. The B2 and MX we could have done without, as we now know. The cost of one B2 could buy 10,000 troops. Outrageous when we have the B1 and others which work fine.

We have had complete dominance in the skies in the past two wars. The B2 and MX were only "needed" against the old Cold War Soviets in terms of a continuing out-of-control budget-busting arms race which no longer exists. Also, when the GOP says Kerry voted against a certain system it's misleading (as usual). Kerry has voted FOR funding of the same programs many times, just not always for every program every time. SO he votes against something once and the GOP tries to make it sem like Kerryr rejects our entire air force. Just silly. Kerry will cut through this BS.
