Kerry and Edwards might make a good team. They have different expertises but are good friends and agree on almost everything.

However, Kerry cannot yet pick a VP. First he has to win Super Tuesday and lock it up. Then there are so many strong choices.

Kerry does not have to win a single southern state to beat Bush, though hopefully he will, especially Florida. This year all the midwest and southwest states are in play. Arizona, Missouri, Ohio, West Virginia, even Indiana and Kentucky. Why do you think Bush was in Kentucky yesterday? They've lost 50,000 jobs and the Dems just beat the GOP there by 12% in a congressional race. Bush may also be worried about North Carolina, especially if Edwards is the VP.
SO many great VP candidates. About seven excellent ones.
