However you say Soviet advisors came with the equipment and had seats between the 40 yard lines. That would suggest they also took a lot of casualties given the millions killed in the war. I don't ever recall reading of Soviet prisoners being taken nor of Soviet casualties. The link below says the Soviets stayed mostly in N. Vietnam as advisors in the anti-aircraft war. The link says 13 Soviet advisors were killed.

I did not do any body counts on Soviets nor did I ever hear of any. I do know with certainty some were killed in battle and others were captured.
BTW the Soviets are well-known for under-reporting their own casualties around the world. Many countries do that.
