That gets back to the honesty/credibility issue. If you aren't honest about this, what are you honest about? A rather common- -daily, basically, often several times- -occurence is he/she/it makes a statement with no backing that is un-credible enough that he/she/it is challenged to prove the claim. Numerous things then happen. Often the challenge is simply ignored, even when repeated. Or she heard it from some famous source, say Kerry himself. Or it was said on some TV program. What never seems to happen is a link or news story is produced to back the claim.
