E,
Many illegit military activities are glossed over with medals. Easier to explain things as heroism than as brutality. Hell Calley probably would have gotten a medal for Mai Lai back then rather than the army fessing up. Look at what happen in the korean massacre we just admitted to recently.
Many folks against the war in iraq have made this same argument against todays military. If its possible today, it was certainly possible back then when accountability was far less. The most important thing to do is to get to the bottom of this before kerry becomes the candidate. I would hold back on the contribution until all this gets sorted out. It would be a disaster if this blows kerry out of the water in september. You folks dont want bush, so dont commit suicide with kerry. Its your job to check this out. Most bush supporters are hoping that you do not. I fear for the country if the dems blow up this way. We deserve a competitive election. In many ways i am speaking for your interest here in replacing W. Folks in glass houses shouldnt throw stones--thats what kerry and co did in attacking bush service. Mike
