Well, I consider this to be an offside sentiment (see last post for definition of offside). The pressure will arise out of the inflation "awareness" phase. When Japan also starts posting 3-4% (and rising) run rates on inflation, printing $2 billion a day in yen for currency intervention will be considered extreme folly by more than just "a few US economists that no one seems to give a rat's ass about".

Who pressures Japan?

If China decides to allow the Ren to float a little, Japan might be pressured to choose which market is more important to them, China of US, no?
