<But I think the great offside trade today is something else? It's quiz time for you now: what would it be?>

Well Russ I am the donkey and you are the "deep thinker" race horse here but I will take a stab at it as per a little tiny comment you made to me the other day. You have been talking about crop shortages, train wrecks, bottle necks, potential inflation, a much smaller bet on deflation. The sum of all the parts may mean certain types of soft commodity or food stocks could be winners. Maybe coffee as it is still low and needs to be transported to the good old USA, Japan, and Europe etc. would be one soft commodities or food. Maybe wheat I don't believe it has rallied like soybeans yet. But here I am on thin ice as I don't want anything to do with futures buying and am unfamiliar with the stocks.

Another play as you see inflation ahead and at some point a ratcheting up of rates would be to short bonds. So maybe a bond fund that focuses on a short position sort of like a anti-nasdaq fund. Several of those are mentioned frequently.

So food stuff or short bonds. Do I get an A, B, C, D, or you are out of school son type grade. Remember this is a lower level class for me not advancing to my doctorate. <g>
