Kerry and Edward have no differences on Iraq. Kerry is a lot more experienced so he was more detailed, and 100% right as it turned out. Taking out Saddam may or may not make us any safer. Depends what takes his place, and we just don't know. The Shiites want democray by the end of the year or else they'll rebel. The Shiites are allied with Iran. Saddam was left in power in 1991 to avoid letting the Shiites take over. The lesser of two evils Bush Sr. decided.

The consequences of that move will haunt us, because the subsequent occupation was totally botched. Do you actually believe there will be a democracy in Iraq two years from now? It will be 3 countries with the minorities brutally suppressed, or an occupied territory.
