ISH,
Get ready for a rant.
The only thing i remember about the sixties is that a nickel bag cost $5. All the rest is very hazy and I cant believe that this campaign is now concentrating on bush and kerry military record during the period.
Bush is the commander in chief so lets judge him on that. Kerry was a Lt in the navy and this certainly doesnt make one qualified or unqualified by itself to become president. Gung ho navy Lieuts like kerry werent very popular back in the States during the sixties. Most liberals were finding ingenious ways to avoid service back then(as did i) and had little positive to say about folks who were fighting in vietnam. National guard bush was just one of the ways to avoid service but lets not forget that bush learned to fly a fighter and could have been called up and most certainly would have gone. This is truth whether folks want to accept it or not. Now these same aged liberals are for war heroes. What hypocrisy. What bull. mike
