One year the flock around Southern Illinois and the adjoining counties in Missouri and Kentucky hit 1 million Canada Geese. I was down there and some storms were moving the geese. At times it was impossible to see any sky.

It's neat to be next to a refuge at around 3:15 in the afternoon. All hunting ends at 3 so 15 minutes later all the geese fly out to feed. Watching 100k geese take off at the same time is awesome.

The big problem is the Central Flyway flock of Snow Geese has grown to 6 million birds and they are ruining their nesting grounds. All the regulations on hunting them have been lifted.
