Yes John did lead the veterans against the war and helped end the war. He did throw some medals over the fence along with many other vets, with tears of sadness in their eyes. This was not something they did lightly. It was to protest a needless and awful war which they had earned the right to protest. John lost two of his best friends in that war and took three shrapnel wounds. He killed, could have been killed and personally saved lives of his brothers in arms. If you have a beef with that, you're the one with a problem.
