<<When a whole nation is roaring Patriotism at the top of its voice, I am fain to explore the cleanness of its hands and purity of its heart. -Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)>>

He's been dead 122 years. I bet he didn't watch the towers fall on 9/11.

I have defended the right to criticize, actually, on various threads. That is not the issue. The issue is that there should be one official voice, someone who can speak for the nation, and that the "default" position is not to undermine the president and therefore weaken the American position.

<<<There is name for nations organized so they speak with one voice: dictatorship.>>>>
A nice spin, Neocom talks about the USA and you mention dictatorship.
A dictator can speak with one voice OK, but it is his own
entirely. Needs no input from the common rabble, or from a Congress, nor authorization to fund whatever evil schemes he has in mind.
