I wonder if people thought about media bias in the 20's and 30's? Cowboy, actor and pundit Will Rogers hardly would raise an eyebrow at that. As he once famously put it: "I'm not a member of any organized political party, I'm a Democrat!" A local paper we subscribed to when I was in high school, as a feature reprinted the Rogers column every day for a while. I was shocked at how insipid, obvious, and uninteresting it was. Maybe he saved his good stuff for the stage and radio, I don't know. It did not translate well I'll say that.
