Well it appears that you are Canadian. It's up to Canada to decide how to handle that.

Clearly Canada is a more pluralistic society than the US. But they do try to include the beliefs of all people, including native peoples. Is someone offended because I call a Holiday tree a Christmas Tree? If so then compromise or understanding should be sought. I would argue that Christmas Tree is secular.

We have many secular elements of society that have roots in religion.

But clearly government has no right to push one religion over another, or one sect over another.

When people say Christmas tree, everyone knows what it means. And it's not the Government calling it a Christmas tree. It's a secular element, period.
